A new study shows that among men treated for breast cancer, African-American men are more likely to die of the disease compared with white men. The results of the study are published online in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO).
Avanir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced the enrollment of the first patient in study AVR-131. The study is a Phase II clinical trial investigating the use of AVP-923 for the treatment of agitation in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
Building upon the momentum and success of its rapidly growing single-incision laparoscopic surgery program, Saint Louis University Hospital recently performed one of the first total abdominal colectomies, including reconstruction of the intestinal tract by reconnection of the remaining small intestine to the rectum, via single-incision laparoscopy.
