Research conducted at Texas A&M University casts doubts on the notion that El Ni-o has been getting stronger because of global warming and raises interesting questions about the relationship between El Ni-o and a severe flu pandemic 91 years ago. The findings are based on analysis of the 1918 El Ni-o, which the new research shows to be one of the strongest of the 20th century.
A study led by scientists from the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI Singapore) at the National University of Singapore has uncovered a key player contributing to the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), blood cell precursors which have the ability to become any type of blood cell in the body.
Although demand and interest in adult stem cell therapies are increasing, it has been challenging for physicians, patients and policy-makers to retrieve the most current and accurate information available. Cell Society International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the clinical applications of adult stem cell therapies worldwide. Cell Society firmly believes that cell therapies offer improved medical treatment for many complicated and hard to treat diseases/injuries.
