The decommissioning of coal-fired power plants in the continental United States has reduced nearby pollution and its negative impacts on human health and crop yields, according to a new University of California San Diego study.
Cedars-Sinai, the largest academic medical center in California, and Lifescript.com, a leading women's health and wellness website, announced today they are co-producing a Web video series focused on women's health, medical news and innovations.
A study in the Nov.1 issue of the journal Sleep shows that retirement is followed by a sharp decrease in the prevalence of sleep disturbances. Findings suggest that this general improvement in sleep is likely to result from the removal of work-related demands and stress rather than from actual health benefits of retirement.
Data from the first COVID-19 patients treated at three large Massachusetts hospitals reveal important trends, including disproportionate representation of vulnerable populations, high rates of disease-related complications, and the need for post-discharge, post-acute care and monitoring.
A research team from the Laval Centre de sant- et de services sociaux, Universit- de Montr-al and McGill University Health Centre has examined the benefits of greater collaboration between family physicians and community pharmacists for select patients.
