The American Public Health Association recently adopted 20 policies addressing a broad range of issues in public health from underage alcohol consumption and nutrition labeling in restaurants to the supply of flu vaccinations and threats to immigrants' health care.
Skanska will reduce order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2010 by USD 63 M, approximately SEK 450 M. The reason is that a customer in California has decided to re-examine its plans for the expansion of a 6,500-square-meter hospital building.
A new study from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine may have found a way to identify those at greatest risk, thereby allowing doctors to decide who should receive treatment that could save the transplanted organ. The new findings appear in the October issue of the journal Liver Transplantation.
The MycetOS project was launched today by the University of Sydney, Erasmus MC, and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative to use an Open Pharma approach to discover compounds that could lead to new treatments for patients suffering from fungal mycetoma (eumycetoma), a devastating disease for which current treatments are ineffective, expensive, and toxic.
