Bioconnect Systems, Inc. announced today that data from the Company's first clinical study will be presented this week at the ASN Meeting in San Diego. Bioconnect's implant platform, the Optiflow™, enhances a surgeon's ability to create precise vascular connections.
For the first time, autism researchers used MRIs of six-month olds to show how brain regions are connected and synchronized, and then predict which babies at high risk of developing autism would be diagnosed with the condition at age two.
"Acknowledging that the development of medical countermeasures against bioterrorism threats and pandemic flu is lagging, [U.S.] federal authorities Thursday announced a $1.9 billion makeover of the system for identifying and manufacturing drugs and vaccines for public-health emergencies," Tribune Company/Seattle Times reports.
Building upon its powerful BD™ LSR cell analyzer platform, BD Biosciences launched today a new off-the-shelf BD LSRFortessa™ System, which uses up to four lasers - blue, red, violet and UV - that enable the detection of up to 18 colors simultaneously.
New research from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill indicates that treatment with anabolic steroids may improve surgical repair of massive or recurrent tears of the shoulder's rotator cuff tendons.
