Ancient DNA found in the dental plaque of Neandertals - our nearest extinct relative - has provided remarkable new insights into their behaviour, diet and evolutionary history, including their use of plant-based medicine to treat pain and illness.
ADVENTRX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that it received a refuse to file letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its New Drug Application (NDA) for ANX-530 (vinorelbine injectable emulsion). In the letter, the FDA indicated that the data included in the initial submission from the intended commercial manufacturing site was insufficient to support a commercially-viable expiration dating period. FDA identified only the one chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) reason for the refusal to file. ADVENTRX plans to meet with the FDA as soon as possible to discuss its response.
Biovail Corporation today announced top-line results from ACADIA Pharmaceutical Inc.'s first pivotal Phase III trial with pimavanserin in patients with Parkinson's disease psychosis, or PDP.
CardioDx, Inc., a pioneer in the field of cardiovascular genomic diagnostics, today announced that Palmetto GBA, a national contractor that administers Medicare benefits, has established coverage for the company's Corus CAD gene expression test for the evaluation of patients presenting with typical and atypical symptoms suggestive of coronary artery disease.
