Little is known concerning how extensively drugs are prescribed to newborns in different neonatal intensive care units. A new British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology study of nearly 1,500 newborns admitted during 12 months to four different NICUs in The Netherlands found that drug use varies widely.
Haemonetics Corporation, a global blood management solutions company, today announced that it has entered into a reagent development and supply agreement with Quotient Biodiagnostics Group and its wholly owned subsidiary Alba Bioscience Limited. This arrangement provides Haemonetics with exclusive access to Alba's comprehensive catalogue of approved reagents for use in connection with the commercialization of its Arryx laser based blood typing platform.
One of the world's most in-demand anaesthetics can now be produced on the spot, thanks to the thermos-flask sized device that recently won Flinders University inventor Professor Colin Raston an Ig Nobel prize.
It has long been believed that psychiatrists should have more psychological problems than other doctors for making their choice. This does not appear to be true according to a study published in the March issue of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics by psychiatrists in Serbia-Montenegro and Greece.
