The New York Times is reporting that Democratic congressional leaders and President Barack Obama "have reached a tentative deal on a proposed excise tax on high-cost, employer-sponsored insurance plans to be included in the final version of major health care legislation, according to officials familiar with the talks." A study by an international team of researchers from University College London and the University of Liverpool published in The BMJ predicts that dementia will affect more than 1.2 million people in England and Wales by 2040.
With the goal of developing new, more effective and personalized cancer treatments, Horizon Discovery, based in Cambridge, England, has secured from Case Western Reserve University exclusive rights to a panel of new human isogenic cell models developed by the laboratory of Zhenghe Wang, assistant professor of genetics at the university's School of Medicine.
