EMD Serono, Inc., an affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, announced today that it received a complete response letter (CRL) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the new drug application (NDA) for Cladribine Tablets, EMD Serono's proprietary investigational oral formulation of cladribine, as a therapy for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS).
Organoids are bits of tissue grown in vitro, in a near-physiological 3D setting. The particularity consists in the fact that organoids retain features of the patient they are derived from, even when cultured outside of the human body. This is very different from what traditional, conventional cell culture has been able to do over the past 50 years or so.
Adverse events from antibiotics cause an estimated 142,000 emergency department visits per year in the United States, according to a study published in the September 15, 2008 issue of Clinical Infectious Diseases.
Patterson Companies, Inc. today reported consolidated sales of $883,819,000 for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011 ended April 30, an increase of 9% from $812,762,000 in the year-earlier quarter.
