Hamburger, Janelle Gooden-Ebanks and John W. Petersen from the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA consider impaired longitudinal strain as a common deficit in various cardiac diseases.
The older we get, the weaker our immune systems tend to become, leaving us vulnerable to infectious diseases and cancer and eroding our ability to benefit from vaccination. The brains of older people are slowing but experience more than makes up for the decline, a University of California, Riverside assistant professor of management and several colleagues found when asking the participants a series of financially related questions.
As part of the huge shake up of the nations health service in Britain, hospital consultants are facing the prospect of government ministers forcing them to work out in the community as part of a crackdown on the "wasted hours" of outpatient appointments.
