The American Academy of Dermatology will present the 2010 Gold Triangle Awards during its 68th Annual Meeting in Miami Beach in early March 2010. Promius Pharma, LLC is one of 49 winners being recognized for excellence in furthering public understanding of dermatologic issues and encouraging healthy behavior in the care of skin, hair and nails.
University of Minnesota researchers have developed a way to study cancer cells which could lead to new and improved treatment. They have developed a new way to study these cells in a 3D in vitro model (i.e. in a culture dish rather than in a human or animal).
When they think about how cells put together the molecules that make life work, biologists have tended to think of assembly lines: Add A to B, tack on C, and so on. But the reality might be more like a molecular version of a 3-D printer, where a single mechanism assembles the molecule in one go.
Today, the San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure announced the launch of the 2009 Shop For The Cure® program, a night of shopping and cocktails hosted by Union Square's finest stores.
VisEn Medical Inc., a leader in fluorescence in vivo imaging from research through medicine, announced today the commercial launch of its new OsteoSense® 800 imaging agent for targeting areas of bone turnover and microcalcification in vivo. The new 800 nm OsteoSense agent complements VisEn's OsteoSense 680 and 750 products, and is expected to further expand the utilization of this agent family in enabling in vivo detection, measurement and monitoring of skeletal changes in a wide range of disease states, including arthritis, osteoporosis, and cancer metastasis.
