New research shows that the estimated one-third of Americans who have a cluster of health problems that add up to metabolic syndrome don't absorb dietary vitamin E as effectively as healthy people.
People who rely on social media for information were more likely to be misinformed about vaccines than those who rely on traditional media, according to a study of vaccine knowledge and media use by researchers at the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.
The study, the first of its kind, could be important for clinicians who work with HIV-positive men who are often uncertain whether to tell friends, family, co-workers or others about being diagnosed with the virus that causes AIDS.
The Partnership to Improve Patient Care (PIPC) and Bloomberg Government today co-hosted "Achieving Patient-Centered CER: Looking Ahead to 2013," a forum on how implementation of patient-centered comparative effectiveness research (CER) is progressing at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
