In high-income countries, people with low socioeconomic position are more likely to receive poor quality end of life care and die in hospital, according to a large meta-analysis by Joanna Davies of King's College London, UK, and colleagues, published this week in PLOS Medicine.
Symptoms experienced by women that are more severe or frequent than expected and of recent occurrence warrant further diagnostic investigation because they are more likely to be associated with both benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) ovarian masses
Some Missouri Republicans have remained adamantly opposed to expanding Medicaid to hundreds of thousands of adults by tapping into billions of federal dollars available under President Barack Obama's health-care law. Yet support has been quietly growing among some of those same Republicans for a mini Medicaid expansion (Lieb, 4/7).
The New York Times examines the controversy surrounding humanitarian aid to Syria, writing, "The United States and other international donors are spending hundreds of millions of dollars on humanitarian aid for Syrians afflicted by the civil war.
