The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition has today issued new guidance to physicians on the diagnosis of celiac disease in children recommending the no-biopsy approach at diagnosis for the majority of children suspected of having the disease.
A nationwide survey of more than 10,000 adolescents, published in the August issue of Pediatrics, reports a high rate of concern about body image in both boys and girls, and finds that adolescents with such concerns are much more likely to use hormones and dietary supplements to enhance their physique.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has announced it is awarding $23 million per year for seven years to establish six Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Surveillance.
The connection between the body, mind and spirit has been the subject of conventional scientific inquiry for some 20 years.
