Research at the University of Leicester will be breaking new ground in the search for a simple blood test that could tell whether a patient with melanoma has the condition in an aggressive form.
Drugs increasingly used to treat cancer could have a major impact on a wide range of infectious diseases, according to new research.
Today the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, an organization which drives the science and practice of clinical nutrition, and Baxter International Inc., a global leader in clinical nutrition, launched an educational video series on the appropriate use of parenteral nutrition, as part of the organizations' "SmartPN" collaboration to help reduce clinical malnutrition that was announced last year.
City of Hope, a world-renowned cancer research and treatment center, today announced that acclaimed Pacific Shores Medical Group has joined City of Hope.
The risk of experiencing another stroke is higher if patients, after dilation of their blood vessels in the brain, receive not only clot-inhibiting drugs, but also have stents inserted. The recently published results of the VISSIT study confirm this conclusion of a rapid report by the German Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) of October 2014.
