A new therapy aimed at improving the sight of people with one of the most common forms of childhood blindness, has shown 'very promising' initial results, according to a study involving UCL researchers.
PAREXEL International Corporation, a leading innovator of global biopharmaceutical services, and Datavant, Inc., a healthcare technology company focused on enabling the secure de-identification and linking of healthcare datasets, today announced they are partnering to enhance clinical study design and operations, as well as the generation of real-world evidence.
An investigation conducted in the context of the Swiss National Research Programme (NRP50), Endocrine Disrupters: Relevance to Humans, Animals and Ecosystems, demonstrates for the first time that internal exposure of humans to cosmetic UV filters is widespread.
Acne develops due to an interplay between genetic factors (so people often have a family history) and hormonal factors that can increase the size and activity of the sebaceous or oil gland.
Babies younger than four weeks old, called neonates, were once thought not to perceive pain due to not-yet-fully-developed sensory systems, but modern research says otherwise, according to researchers from Hiroshima University in Japan.
