For the seventh year in a row, Meridian Health's Red Dress event will celebrate American Heart Month and raise awareness for women's heart health. The fun-filled, health-focused event will take place at Watermark, a chic lounge in Asbury Park. In partnership with The Heart Truth campaign, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Meridian CardioVascular Network's Red Dress event will showcase fashions from the famous Red Dress Collection.
Adults who developed health care-associated infections (HAIs) due to medical or surgical care while in the hospital in 2007 had to stay an average of 19 days longer than adults who didn't develop an infection, (24 days versus 5 days), according to the latest News and Numbers from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Using hyperthermia, Virginia Tech engineering researchers and a colleague from India unveiled a new method to target and destroy cancerous cells. The research was presented at the 63rd annual meeting of the American Physical Society Nov. 23 in Long Beach, Calif.
Fake social media accounts already have a reputation of swaying political discourse, but a Keck School of Medicine of USC researcher says these automated accounts are even more dangerous - they can be bad for your health.
