In its continuing effort to advance the biomedical sciences, New Jersey Health Foundation has awarded a pivotal $35,000 grant to the Office of Translational Sciences at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, to help launch a Fragment Based Drug Discovery (FBDD) core facility.
Biomet, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of orthopedic and biotechnology products, announced today that its subsidiary, Biomet Biologics, LLC, has completed the required 230 subject enrollment for its Recover® Kit clinical trial. This clinical trial studies the use of the Recover® Kit device, which produces autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to treat chronic tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis).
People with high triglycerides and another type of cholesterol tested but not usually evaluated as part of a person's risk assessment have an increased risk of a certain type of stroke, according to research published in the December 26, 2007, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
A multi-center study led by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has shed light on why proteins, the seedlings that serve as the incubator for many cancers, can vary from cancer to cancer and even patient to patient, a discovery that adds to a growing base of knowledge important for developing more effective precision therapies.
Researchers from the Centenary Institute's Origins of Cancer Program have discovered new links between nutrition and prostate cancer.
