Universal Biosensors announced today that it has agreed amendments to its arrangements with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. The parties have agreed to shift the focus of their joint product development activities, provide prepayment of milestones to UBI and improved strip pricing to support Siemens' entry into the point-of-care PT-INR testing market.
Researchers at Duke University Medical Center may finally have discovered why people with sickle cell disease get milder cases of malaria than individuals who have normal red blood cells.
While the number of pediatric emergency department (ED) visits across the nation has remained stable over the last 10 years, visits for mental health disorders have risen 60% and the rate of visits for deliberate self-harm have increased 329%.
Research published this week in the Journal Autism, published by SAGE, estimate the annual costs of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to be more than £27 billion a year. The costs of supporting children with ASDs were estimated to be £2.7 billion per year, £25 billion each year for adults.
A pilot investigation performed by a group of Italian investigators and published in the current issue of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics indicates that supportive-expressive group therapy is helpful in patients with breast cancer.
