Study suggests PTSD symptoms common in Second Generation population

In groups with high rates of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as the survivors of the Nazi Death Camps, the adjustment problems of their children, the so called "Second Generation", have received attention by researchers. Studies suggested that some symptoms or personality traits associated with PTSD may be more common in the Second Generation than the general population.

Researchers find that one in six Ontario adults reports a history of TBI

Nearly seventeen per cent of adults surveyed in Ontario said they have suffered a traumatic brain injury that left them unconscious for five minutes or required them to be hospitalized overnight, according to new research. These same adults also reported more substance use, smoking and recent psychiatric distress.

Vertice Pharma closes previously announced acquisition of VistaPharm

Vertice Pharma, a specialty pharmaceuticals company focused on improving patients' health, today announced it closed on the previously announced acquisition of VistaPharm, a specialized generics manufacturer of liquid and unit dosage pain medications for the hospital market, retail pharmacy and outpatient clinics. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
