Study on how epigenetic changes contribute to congnitive decline

The National Institutes of Health has awarded Rush University Medical Center approximately $5.5 million in grants to study how epigenetic changes - chemical modifications to genes that result from diet, aging, stress, or environmental exposures - define and contribute to memory formation and cognitive decline. Results from the studies could profoundly alter the way the medical community understands, diagnoses, and treats Alzheimer's disease, according to the researchers.

DPT Labs, Imprimis sign agreement to commence work on Impracor clinical supplies

Imprimis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company developing non-invasive, topically delivered products, announced that it has signed an agreement with DPT Labs to commence work on supplying Imprimis with quantities of its active topical anti-inflammatory drug, Impracor, for currently planned Phase 3 clinical trials.

UAB study to examine social support, intuitive eating impact on older African-American men with diabetes

University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing Assistant Professor Loretta T. Lee, Ph.D., has received a 2015 Deep South Resource Center for Minority Aging pilot grant award to examine the association of social support and intuitive eating with glycemic control in older African-American men with diagnosed type 2 diabetes.
