Researchers develop new model to observe self-optimization phenomenon in neuronal networks

Researchers at the Cyber-Physical Systems Group at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, in conjunction with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, have developed a new model of how information deep in the brain could flow from one network to another and how these neuronal network clusters self-optimize over time.

Siemens signs long-term lease at Lightstone Group's Service Center in St. Rose

The Lightstone Group announced today that Siemens Corporation signed a 25,498 square-foot, long-term lease at Lightstone Group's Service Center 24 building in James Business Park in St. Rose, La. Phase 3 clinical study: Ipilimumab boosts, sustains immune system responses against melanoma tumors

The Cancer Research Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of immune system-based treatments for cancer, announced today its celebration of a significant new breakthrough in the treatment of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. The new treatment, a cancer immunotherapy created by Cancer Research Institute Scientific Advisory Council Associate Director James P. Allison, Ph.D., is designed to "take the brakes off the immune system," and is the first treatment ever proven to extend life for patients whose melanomas are unresponsive to existing cancer therapies.
