Depomed, Inc. today announced that it has received a $10 million milestone payment from Abbott Products, Inc., its licensee of DM-1796, for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's acceptance for filing of the New Drug Application (NDA) for DM-1796 for the management of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), or pain after shingles.
A methacetin breath test (MBT) that can be performed quickly and noninvasively has been proven to accurately predict survival in patients with viral hepatitis and may be used as an adjunctive tool to MELD.
Owens & Minor, Inc., a leading healthcare logistics company, and Medical Action Industries Inc., a leading producer of custom procedure trays (CPTs) and minor procedure kits, announced today that the two companies have signed a definitive agreement under which Owens & Minor will acquire all outstanding shares of Medical Action for $13.80 per share in cash, representing a total transaction value of approximately $208 million, including assumed debt, net of cash.
FDA on Wednesday announced proposed rules under which medical experts with more than a $50,000 financial interest in pharmaceutical companies could not serve on agency advisory committees that review their products or the products of their competitors, the Washington Post reports.
