TwinGuard freezer range from Panasonic enable secure sample storage

Panasonic Biomedical Sales Europe B.V. has introduced two new TwinGuard Ultra Low Temperature Upright Freezers. The new models include enhanced features that improve the footprint and ease-of-use of the TwinGuard range for highly secure storage of high value samples. The new MDF-DU502VX-PE and MDF-DU702VX-PE provide an internal capacity of 528 litres and 729 litres, respectively.

FDA approves GlaxoSmithKline's Arnuity Ellipta for treatment of asthma

GlaxoSmithKline plc today announced that the FDA has approved Arnuity™ Ellipta® (fluticasone furoate inhalation powder), a once-daily inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medicine for maintenance treatment of asthma as prophylactic therapy in patients aged 12 years and older. Arnuity is not indicated for relief of acute bronchospasm.

Cytokine PharmaSciences, Inc. today announced the completion of a Phase II study of the misoprostol vaginal insert (MVI), a proprietary, controlled-release and retrievable polymer chip containing prostaglandin E(1) (PGE1). Results of the dose-finding study in pregnant women at term gestation confirm the efficacy and safety of this investigational product and suggest that the MVI may reduce time to delivery after induction, support more natural labor, and reduce the rate of cesarean delivery.
