Dassault Systèmes announces partnership with echoBase

Dassault Systèmes (DS), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced today a partnership with application developer echoBase, Inc, marking DS's entry into the electronic medical records market. echoBase's Resonate iPhone application for doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and other healthcare providers will leverage Dassault Systèmes' ENOVIA V6 online collaboration and data management solution to deliver portability, availability and security of healthcare data.

TearLab and AMO Canada enter cooperative marketing agreement

TearLab Corporation today announced that it has entered into a cooperative marketing agreement with Abbott Medical Optics Inc.'s subsidiary, AMO Canada Company. Under the agreement, AMO Canada's sales force will directly sell the TearLab™ Osmolarity System in Canada while TearLab will help promote AMO Canada's products for the relief of dry eye symptoms, including Blink® Moisturizing Eye Drops. Financial terms were not disclosed.

WHO mandated to lead global response against NCDs but funding lacking

In this post in the Center for Global Development's "Global Health Policy" blog, Amanda Glassman, director of global health policy and a research fellow at the center, writes that the "main outcome" of the U.N. High-level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is an assignment for the WHO "to lead the global response to NCDs, develop a monitoring and evaluation framework, provide technical assistance and track progress towards global targets."

Hospice care is a type of care and philosophy of care that focuses on the palliation of a chronically ill, terminally ill or seriously ill patient's pain and symptoms, and attending to their emotional and spiritual needs.
