Disparities in emergency room waiting times for chest pain patients

Emory University Rollins School of Public Health researchers will present Nov. 10 on a range of topics at the American Public Health Association's annual meeting in Philadelphia, including a study that examined compliance with national recommendations that a physician screen chest pain patients within 10 minutes of their arrival to the Emergency Department (ED).

UC San Diego, Scripps partner to improve patient care, physician training and research in hospice medicine

UC San Diego Health System and Scripps Health are partnering to provide improved continuity of patient care, fellowship training and research in hospice and palliative medicine. Under a new five-year agreement, Scripps will work with UC San Diego to provide outpatient and inpatient hospice care for UC San Diego patients, allowing UC San Diego physicians to better coordinate post-acute care for patients with chronic illness.

Cerus prices underwritten public offering

Cerus Corporation today announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 7,368,422 units, with each unit consisting of one share of its common stock and a warrant to purchase 0.5 of a share of its common stock, at a price to the public of $2.85 per unit. The aggregate public offering price of this offering is approximately $21.0 million, and the net proceeds to the Company, after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions, but before legal and other estimated offering expenses, are expected to be approximately $19.7 million.
