Striking difference identified between mRNA vaccination vs. SARS-CoV-2 infection immune responses

A team of scientists from the United States has recently compared the immune response elicited by natural severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination. Their findings reveal that, unlike vaccination, natural SARS-CoV-2 infection is associated with a robust interferon response together with an induction of cytotoxic gene expression in peripheral blood lymphocytes. The study is currently available on the medRxiv* preprint server.

Withheld anger in MS patients can have adverse effect on health

People with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) feel more than twice as much withheld anger as the general population and this could have an adverse effect on their relationships and health, according to a study published in the December issue of the European Journal of Neurology.

(FTRI), the non-profit distributor of specialized telecommunications equipment for people with hearing loss and speech disabilities, is offering a new amplified telephone developed by Clarity, a division of Plantronics, at no cost to seniors and others with hearing loss. The Clarity W425 Pro cordless telephone amplifies incoming sounds up to 45 dB.

Charles River Laboratories International, WuXi PharmaTech sign definitive agreement to combine

Charles River Laboratories International, Inc., a leading global provider of research models and associated services and of preclinical drug development services, and WuXi PharmaTech, a leading drug research and development outsourcing company with expertise in discovery chemistry and with operations in China and the United States, today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement under which Charles River and WuXi will combine in a cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $1.6 billion.
