Occlutech receives favorable appeal court ruling against patent litigation with AGA Medical

Occlutech GmbH, the leading European developer of minimally invasive implants for the treatment of structural heart disease, today announced receiving a favourable appeal court ruling from The Hague, The Netherlands in the on-going patent litigation with AGA Medical. A favourable first instance court ruling obtained by Occlutech had been appealed by AGA in 2008.

Combination of antiviral medications can eradicate HCV infection in patients with advanced liver disease

A large multi-center clinical trial has found that a combination of antiviral medications can eradicate hepatitis C infection in more than 90 percent of patients with advanced liver disease. Known as the ASTRAL-4 trial, the study was co-led by investigators at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Intermountain Medical Center and published online Nov. 17 in The New England Journal of Medicine.

Underwriters partially exercise over-allotment option in Cadence public offering

Cadence Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that its underwriters partially exercised their over-allotment option in connection with its previously announced public offering that priced on November 11, 2010, by purchasing an additional 1,000,000 shares of its common stock at a public offering price of $8.00 per share. Including the over-allotment shares purchased, Cadence sold a total of 12,500,000 shares in the offering, resulting in expected aggregate gross proceeds to the company of $100 million.
