EMA CHMP may issue an opinion on CTI's Pixuvri MAA in mid-Feb.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. ("CTI") announced today that, following discussions with the European Medicines Agency's ("EMA") Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use ("CHMP"), the CHMP may issue an opinion on CTI's Marketing Authorization Application ("MAA") for Pixuvri in mid-February.

They also should consider screening those patients for clinical depression and anxiety - impairments that researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have found can have a negative impact on outcomes following hip surgery, such as pain, slower recoveries and inadequate return to activity.

Drug safety in the doctor's office - nearly half of patients have lapses in monitoring

According to research published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, only slightly more than half of patients taking chronic medications received the recommended laboratory tests to monitor drug side effects.
