Missouri S&T researcher comes up with patented breast cancer screening device

Cancer screening could soon be as simple as giving a urine sample using a patented device developed by a Missouri University of Science and Technology researcher. This week, Wyoming-based Cancer.im Inc., a Viratech Corp. company and social network for cancer patients, survivors and caretakers, announced an agreement with Missouri S&T to commercialize the device.

Patients who develop AFib following TAVR have greater risk for complications

Patients developing AFib after TAVR are at higher risk of death, stroke and heart attack compared to patients who already had AFib prior to the procedure, according to a study today in JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions. The paper is the first nationwide examination of patients who developed AFib for the first time following TAVR.

Researchers identify mechanism to recover aging of Progeria patients

DGIST's research team has identified a mechanism that can recover the aging of patients with Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome. DGIST announced that the Chair Professor Park SangChul of New Biology and the research team led by Professor Lee YoungSam has discovered a drug that can improve the aging of HGPS patients and identified the mechanism of aging recovery by using the drug.
