If it's left untreated, it can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes. Scientists to combine NK cell therapy with immunocytokine to target childhood cancer

Researchers have made rapid advances in understanding how to manipulate the immune system safely to destroy cancer cells. Adoptive transfer of haploidentical natural killer cells has shown promise as a treatment option to target and kill cancer cells in a less toxic way than conventional therapies. Now for the first time, scientists will combine NK cell therapy with an immunocytokine to target children with relapsed/refractory disease including those with bulky tumors.

Annals of Internal Medicine raises concerns over placebo standard

A paper published in the October 19 issue of Annals of Internal Medicine - entitled "What's In Placebos: Who Knows" calls into question this foundation upon which much of medicine rests, by showing that there is no standard behind the standard no standard for the placebo.
