March of Dimes to honor fragile X syndrome researcher with Lifetime Achievement award

A world-renowned fragile X syndrome researcher, who was the first to identify the long-sought genetic abnormality responsible for this disorder, will be honored by the March of Dimes.

Inserm prizes for medical research to be awarded on Dec. 3

The 2012 Inserm prizes for medical research will be awarded at a ceremony at the Coll-ge de France on Monday 3 December 2012. This year, the grand prize will be awarded to Philippe Sansonetti in the presence of Marisol Touraine, France's Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Genevi-ve Fioraso, France's Minister of Higher Education and Research, and Professor Andr- Syrota, Chairman and CEO of Inserm.

Accumetrics VerifyNow test shows patients with high PRU exhibit higher stent thrombosis

Accumetrics, Inc., developer of the VerifyNow System, the first rapid and easy-to-use point-of-care system for measuring platelet reactivity to multiple antiplatelet agents, today announced that patients with high platelet reactivity, i.e. high PRU values as measured by the Accumetrics VerifyNow P2Y12 Test, exhibited an approximately four times higher rate of stent thrombosis than patients without high platelet reactivity, as seen in the ADAPT-DES registry.
