The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, a federal agency within the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, has concluded an investigation into patient care violations at Sutter Solano Medical Center that pose an "immediate and serious threat to the health and safety of patients."
ThromboGenics NV and BioInvent International AB today announced positive results from a Phase I trial of their novel anti-cancer monoclonal antibody TB-403 in patients with advanced solid tumours. The results were presented at the AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics in Boston, U.S. TB-403 was well tolerated with no reported dose limiting toxicity. These positive data support progression of TB-403 and further development.
About 5% of children begin to stutter, usually in the third and fourth years of life. The consensus is that early intervention in the preschool years is necessary, but evidence to support this is currently lacking.
Antibiotic resistance is a consequence of antibiotic use. Bacteria adapt to the threat of antibiotics using mechanisms to overcome the drug. These bacteria, which we call resistant bacteria, then survive.
