Derma Sciences announces results of DSC127 Phase 2 trial in diabetic foot ulcers at 24-weeks

Derma Sciences, Inc., a medical device and pharmaceutical company focused on advanced wound care, today announced that in the follow-up portion of its Phase 2 clinical trial in patients with diabetic foot ulcers, the percentage of patients treated with the therapeutic dose of DSC127 with complete healing at 24 weeks following trial enrollment was 73% in the intent-to-treat population and 85% in the per-protocol population, a difference of 27 and 33 percentage points, respectively, compared with patients treated with placebo/standard of care.

Study highlights value of cognitive training for adults with mild cognitive impairment

Researchers at the Center for BrainHealth, part of The University of Texas at Dallas, investigated the effects of combining two non-pharmacological interventions for adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment: eight semi-weekly sessions of Strategic Memory Advanced Reasoning Training, a cognitive training program shown to improve reasoning and ability to extract the bottom-line message from complex information; and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation over the left frontal region, an area associated with cognitive control and memory recovery success in people with Alzheimer's disease.
