Adults who have drug or alcohol dependency have experienced very high rates of early adversities, according to a new study published by University of Toronto researchers.
Allos Therapeutics, Inc. and Mundipharma International Corporation Limited today jointly announced that the companies have entered into a strategic collaboration agreement to co-develop FOLOTYN (pralatrexate injection).
A new nationally-coordinated training programme for pathologists, scientists and technicians involved in processing and interpreting cervical smears is to be established. The programme will be based in Christchurch with training taking place in main centres across New Zealand.
A new study conducted by Humana and the Wisconsin Health Information Exchange (WHIE) found that health information exchanges (HIE), when used in emergency departments, resulted in improved provider efficiencies and health plan cost savings.
Acute liver failure is a rare yet life-threatening disease for young children. It often occurs extremely rapidly, for example, when a child has a fever. Yet in around 50 percent of cases it is unclear as to why this happens. Now, a team of researchers working on an international research project headed by Technische Universität München, the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich and Heidelberg University Hospital have discovered a link between the disease and mutations in a specific gene.
