Virginia Commonwealth University scientists have made a key advance in understanding the proteins and mechanisms involved in the spread of Lyme Disease, a finding that could lead to a vaccine against the tick-borne illness that affects thousands of people each year.
Isansys Lifecare, a new generation digital healthcare company from Oxford, has fought off competition from across the country to be nominated for a prestigious national innovation award which will see the company heading to Parliament later this month.
Now, in new research posted to the preprint server bioRxiv*, scientists use an experimental structure of the Spike RBD domain co-crystallized with part of the ACE2 receptor and several in silico methods to analyze the possible impacts of three amino acid replacements (Spike K417N, E484K, N501Y) concerning ACE2 binding.
The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) monthly food price index for January is expected to be at a similar level to the record highs measured in December's index, Abdolreza Abbassian, an economist with the agency, said on Monday, Reuters reports. "FAO's expectation is that the January index would be very close or slightly below December," Abbassian said ahead of the release of FAO's monthly food index, which is due to be published on February 3.
