The discovery of tri-specific natural killer engagers (TriKE™), a combination protein that bridges an immune cell and a tumor cell to drive tumor cell killing power exponentially, has led to a new Phase I, first-in-human study to treat leukemia.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is making it easier to find chemical information online. EPA is releasing a database, called ToxRefDB, which allows scientists and the interested public to search and download thousands of toxicity testing results on hundreds of chemicals.
After publicly criticizing the president's proposed fix for plans that had been canceled under the health law and saying the District of Columbia might not go along, D.C.'s insurance commissioner was fired by the mayor's office late last week.
Interim data from a prospective Investigator Initiated Trial presented today at the ECTS, the 37th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues, in Glasgow, demonstrates that EVISTA (raloxifene 60mg; once-daily, distributed in 34 countries by DAIICHI SANKYO), indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, improves bone quality as measured by the high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography.
A meta-analysis of individual patient data has identified risk factors for intracerebral haemorrhage in patients with cerebral cavernous malformations.
