Fox Chase Cancer Center researchers report that radiation therapy alone can reduce prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels below detectable amounts in prostate cancer patients. Patients who have an undetectable level of PSA after therapy have less chance of biochemical failure than other patients and a good chance of being cured.
CyDex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that Prism Pharmaceuticals' NEXTERONE (amiodarone HCL) Premixed Injection, which recently received supplemental new drug application (sNDA) approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, makes use of the patent-protected CyDex Captisol technology platform.
The majority of people playing football in the U.S. aren't NFL players or collegiate athletes -they're youth players, less than 14 years old. But until now, there hasn't been independent data evaluating the effectiveness of the helmets these athletes wear on the field.
Researchers in the United States, the UK and France have shown that using antiviral monoclonal antibodies in combination with vaccination can be expected to suppress the transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) and reduce the burden of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) more than vaccination alone.
A new brace that maintains correction for clubfoot, a birth defect in which the foot is turned in toward the body, has shown better compliance and fewer complications than the traditional brace used to treat the condition.
