USAID and the National Science Foundation on Thursday launched the Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research initiative to "provide grants to developing world partners of NSF U.S. grantees," with the goal of supporting "applied research - science in support of development - in areas of global concern such as climate change, biodiversity, water issues, agriculture, seismic hazards and deforestation," SciDev.Net reports.
NMMI publishes original research papers, reviews, case reports, editorials and letters to the editor on nuclear medicine and a wide range of related sciences. These include radiochemistry, radiopharmacy, dosimetry and pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear and molecular imaging analysis, nuclear and molecular imaging instrumentation, radiation biology and radionuclide therapy. June-Key Chung, MD, PhD, from the Seoul National University College of Medicine will serve as editor-in-chief. He will be supported by an international editorial board.
Working with the International Tennis Federation and colleagues at the University of Exeter, the team from the University of Sheffield's Faculty of Engineering developed a test machine which applies large forces to a surface to mimic the impact of elite tennis players on tennis courts.
