New research from Scotland has led to a discovery which may bring a cure for malaria a step closer.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved the HeartWare Ventricular Assist System, a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), to support heart function and blood flow in patients with end-stage heart failure who are awaiting a heart transplant.
The large majority of coronary patients in Europe are failing to achieve their lifestyle, risk factor and therapeutic targets as set out in the latest prevention guidelines.
Compared with women in a recent study who slept seven to eight hours each night, women who slept for ≤5 hours or ≥10 hours had about a 25 percent increased odds of experiencing recurrent falls (falling at least twice in a year).
AirXpanders Inc., a medical device company focused on the design, manufacture, sale and distribution of the AeroForm Tissue Expander, is pleased to report that its pivotal XPAND trial has met its primary endpoint in patients who have undergone a mastectomy.
