OSI Systems, Inc., a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, today announced that OSI Electronics, a business within its Optoelectronic and Manufacturing division, has received an order of approximately $4 million for electronic sub-assemblies from an innovative medical device manufacturer.
Michael Pulsipher, MD, of the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, along with co-principal investigator, Sung-Yun Pai, MD, of Boston Children's Hospital, has been awarded nearly $9 million from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the NIH to study a new treatment approach for babies born with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) which prevents the immune system from functioning normally.
Most people with allergies have to take medication throughout their life: Their body "thinks" that proteins from the environment are so "strange" that they elicit an immune reaction. Until present, it was not possible to develop an efficient therapy so that the body "learns" to stop in an overreacting way.
Menarini Silicon Biosystems, the pioneer of liquid biopsy and single cell technologies, announced today that results from a new study presented at the virtual 2020 meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology suggest that circulating tumor cell counts may be useful in determining long-term prognosis and guiding treatment selection in patients with metastatic castrate sensitive prostate cancer.
