The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society applauds the FDA's recent approval of two new drugs - daratumumab and ixazomib - to treat patients with relapsed multiple myeloma. These therapies are the latest in a growing arsenal to fight this blood cancer that impacts nearly 100,000 patients in the U.S. Advances in treatments for many different types of blood cancers are happening with dizzying speed and these two approvals in just one week are the latest evidence of this phenomenon.
High-intensity, repetitive rehabilitation exercises can help stroke survivors significantly improve functioning in their paralyzed arm and in their quality of life — even years after their disabling event, according to late-breaking science results presented at the American Stroke Association's International Stroke Conference 2010.
It seems that it remains debatable whether screening women under 50 years old for breast cancer significantly reduces deaths from the disease.
There is new evidence that people can learn to control the activity of some brain regions when they get feedback signals provided by functional magnetic resonance brain imaging (fMRI).
