Some parents would like the ability to predict the future, in terms of their child's risk for certain chronic health conditions. This comes in a new study published online in the journal Pediatrics. Experts, however, say the tests are of little value at this time.
Profil Institute for Clinical Research, Inc., a company focused on early phase clinical trials for diabetes and obesity, and Florida Hospital, one of nation's largest clinical care providers, announced today a joint venture to establish a state-of-the-art early phase clinical services center for metabolic disease research, including diabetes, obesity and cardiometabolic diseases.
When a person learns they are suffering from cancer, the first question in their mind is always: "How much time do I have?" Unfortunately, this is a question to which the researchers have long been seeking an absolute answer.
Cardium Therapeutics (NYSE Amex: CXM) today reported on preclinical findings published in the scientific journal, Gene Therapy, demonstrating that Cardium's Gene Activated Matrix(TM) or GAM(TM) technology accelerates periodontal tissue regeneration of oral implant-supporting wounds.
HeartWare International, Inc., a leading innovator of less invasive, miniaturized circulatory support technologies that are revolutionizing the treatment of advanced heart failure, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved an IDE Supplement that allows HeartWare to enroll a fourth allotment, of 54 additional patients, in its "ADVANCE" bridge-to-transplant clinical trial under a Continued Access Protocol.
