Results from the VeriStrat analysis of a phase II trial of first line erlotinib in combination with sorafenib in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer were presented today at the 22nd EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium on Molecular Targets in Cancer Therapeutics being held in Berlin, Germany by Egbert Smit, MD, PhD of the VU Medical Center, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
In this post in the Center for Global Development's (CGD) "Global Health Policy" blog, Amanda Glassman, director of global health policy and a research fellow at the center, and Denizhan Duran, a research assistant at the center, examine several recent studies evaluating the use of cash transfers as a strategy against HIV/AIDS.
The signs of atopy may be present long before symptoms begin, even in month-old babies, according to a new research study from Denmark. The study found that the level of urinary eosinophil protein-X (u-EPX), a marker of inflammatory cells, in newborn babies was linked to higher risk of allergic sensitization, nasal eosinophilia and eczema at six years.
