The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released an alarming new report on Monday. According to the CDC report almost 50% of the adult population of the United States have chronic conditions which could lead to heart disease. The pre-existing diagnosed conditions included high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.
IVAX Diagnostics, Inc., a fully integrated global invitro diagnostics company, announced that its subsidiary, Diamedix Corporation, has signed a distribution agreement with Nova Century Scientific ("Nova"), a leading Canadian distributor and manufacturer of diagnostic kits and laboratory supplies. Through this agreement, which marks IVAX Diagnostics' entry into the Canadian market, Nova will market and sell 50 of Diamedix's products, including analyzer instrumentation, under the Diamedix brand.
Problems related to elderly patients' medical drug treatments are widespread and commonly result in hospital admissions for people with dementia. New research shows that including clinical pharmacists in health care teams might improve the quality and safety of patient care and halve the risk of drug-related hospital readmissions. This according to a dissertation at Umea University in Sweden.
