The research team, directed by Joseph Gleeson, M.D., Director of the Neurogenetics Laboratory at the UCSD School of Medicine and associate professor in the Department of Neurosciences, have identified a new gene that, when mutated, leads to JSRD. Radiation therapy protocol deviations in clinical trials are associated with increased risk of treatment failure and overall mortality, according to a study entitled, "Radiotherapy Protocol Deviations are Associated with Inferior Clinical Outcomes: A Meta-analysis of Cooperative Group Clinical Trials" to be presented today at the 54th annual meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in Boston, MA.
A new study, by two Goethe University Frankfurt researchers, published on the preprint server medRxiv* in September 2020 explores the relationship between the monsoon season, the chances of exposure to ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation, and the COVID-19 mortality.
In a letter sent to Congressional members on August 14, the Electronic Cigarette Association (ECA) criticized the recent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) study on electronic cigarettes as it failed to follow standard scientific protocols and was too narrow in scope.
