Perrigo Company plc today announced that it has received final approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration for its abbreviated new drug application for repaglinide tablets 1 mg and 2 mg, the generic equivalent to Prandin Tablets (repaglinide tablets) and has commenced shipment of product. Perrigo previously launched the 0.5 mg strength in 2013.

Spermatagonial stem cells can be directly converted into other cell types

Researchers have found a way to directly convert spermatogonial stem cells, the precursors of sperm cells, into tissues of the prostate, skin and uterus. Their approach, described this month in the journal Stem Cells, may prove to be an effective alternative to the medical use of embryonic stem cells.
