Major League Baseball players are putting their bats to work once again to help strike out prostate cancer as part of the Prostate Cancer Foundation's 14th Annual Home Run Challenge. The Home Run Challenge, a partnership between the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association, begins today and runs through Father's Day, June 20, 2010.
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, working in partnership with the University of South Florida (USF), has discovered a new use for an old, previously discredited anti-cancer drug that could add another weapon in the arsenal against several cancers, including tumors of the breast, ovary, colon, skin and prostate.
A study of 4,500 U.S. children over 20 years has identified a single test that can predict which kids will become nearsighted by the eighth grade: a measure of their current refractive error.
A new study published on the preprint server bioRxiv in May 2020 describes a panel of neutralizing antibodies that bind to multiple attachment sites on the spike protein of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent of the current COVID-19 disease pandemic.
