Medline Industries, Inc., based in Mundelein, Illinois, and 3M Company, based in St. Paul, Minnesota, announced today that they have amicably reached an agreement resolving all claims between them based on allegations that each company made false claims in advertising promoting their respective surgical hand cleaners, Medline's Sterillium® Rub and 3M's Avagard™ Surgical Hand Antiseptic.
Doubling the low amount of total body radiation delivered to patients undergoing bone marrow transplants with donor cells that are only "half-matched" increased the rate of engraftment from only about 50 percent to nearly 100 percent, according to a new study by Johns Hopkins researchers.
It is estimated that about 35 million people worldwide currently suffer from dementia and it is expected that the number will increase to 135 million by the year 2050. The disease is already one of the most common health problems in the elderly, which is why experts predict that the numbers of people affected will increase over time.
