Bone healing cells in non-smokers are of a better quality, more active and quicker at dividing than those of smokers, according to new research.
In today's MMWR, a study of COVID-19 infections in Kentucky among people who were previously infected with SAR-CoV-2 shows that unvaccinated individuals are more than twice as likely to be reinfected with COVID-19 than those who were fully vaccinated after initially contracting the virus.
Dole Food Company, Inc. announced today it is donating fifteen salad bars over the next three years in North Carolina, California and the Washington, D.C. areas. Dole is launching this initiative in partnership with the United Fresh Produce Association as part of their "Salad Bar In Every School" campaign.
A protein implicated in the development of vascular diseases may also contribute to the failure of arteriovenous (AV) fistulas created for vascular access in dialysis patients, according to a study appearing in an upcoming issue of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (JASN).
